Insight Lab Redesign: UI/UX Case Study

This case study explores the design and optimization process for the website of Adept Panels (B2B Lead Generation Platform) targeting C-level executives. The platform connects VIPs (C-level executives) with relevant B2B clients (Seekers) through targeted surveys.

The Initial Brief:

The Initial Brief was to re-design the Adept Panel Website prioritizing a professional and trustworthy aesthetic for c-level users. We wanted to clearly communicate ourselves as a trustworthy and reliable platform where we value their time and knowledge they share by filling our surveys and properly incentivizing them. We wanted to clearly communicate how easy it is to fill our survey forms and receive reward for their time & knowledge. We wanted the website to be accessible to all and responsive for all platforms

Why are we Redesigning our Website?

The initial Landing page lacked a clear value proposition and struggled to build trust among c-level executives in filling our survey forms. Some of the key issues found are as follows

1. Unclear Benefits:

The landing page didn't clearly communicate the value proposition for VIPs in terms of rewards, recognition, or knowledge sharing.

2. Generic Messaging:

The messaging failed to resonate with the specific needs and interests of C-level executives.

3. Weak CTA:

The signup button lacked a compelling call to action that encouraged participation.

4. Confusing Visuals:

The visuals didn't effectively convey the platform's functionality or target audience. This created uncertainty among users mind and stopped them from filling our survey forms

Redesign Goals

The initial Landing page lacked a clear value proposition and struggled to build trust among c-level executives in filling our survey forms. Some of the key issues found are as follows

1. Boosting VIP Signups:

We aimed for a measurable increase in VIP signups, targeting a significant growth in user acquisition.

2. Enhancing User Experience:

Optimizing the landing page's clarity and user flow was crucial. We aimed to ensure the platform's value proposition and benefits for VIPs were clearly communicated and easily understood.

3. Elevating Visual Appeal & Relevance:

We wanted to ensure the landing page's visuals resonated with the C-level audience and effectively showcased the platform's functionality.

4. Optimizing Call to Action (CTA):

Crafting a compelling CTA was key. We aimed to create a call to action that effectively motivated VIPs to take the desired action (signing up).

5. Streamlining User Flow:

Simplifying the signup process was essential. We aimed to create a smooth and convenient process for VIPs to join the platform.

By achieving these specific goals, we aimed to create a landing page that effectively captured the interest of C-level executives, addressed their needs, and ultimately, converted them into valuable participants within the B2B lead generation platform. This would ultimately lead to a more robust ecosystem of knowledge sharing, industry insights, and qualified leads for B2B clients (Seekers).

As we are a B2B platform and interviewing our clients was not an option so for getting the data regarding our website i stuck to interviewing our stakeholders & product managers on know more about the platforms & how I can create a ideal landing page which can achieve our goals.

User Persona's:

After gathering enough information from research I created user personas to empathize with users and translate my research findings into actionable insights that guide design decisions. I also used user persona’s to clearly explain our target audience to stakeholders involved in the redesign.

Competitive Analysis

Exploring further I decided to do competitive analysis  to understand the C-Level Lead Generation market. By examining our direct & indirect competitors I can identify industry trends, best practices & potential gaps in the market.

Goal for Competitive Analysis:

The goal for competitive analysis was to find find any strength weakness in the competitor’s website and to find opportunities, gaps in our currently designed website. It also aims to brainstorm on any feature which can help us improve our website.

User Interface (UI):

A significant finding is that many competitor websites lack a well-designed and user-friendly interface. This presents an opportunity for Adept Panels to differentiate itself by prioritizing an exceptional user experience (UX) that fosters engagement and motivates completion of survey forms.

Design Language

Since we were targeting C-level users I decided to go with a more minimalistic approach for this website. The minimalistic approach prioritizes clarity, user-friendliness and professional aesthetics.

This approach aligns perfectly with the target audience of C-level executives who value efficiency and information at a glance.

The design avoids unnecessary elements or visual clutter. Ample white space and clear layouts will be utilized to enhance readability and focus user attention on key information.

Color Palette

I decided to go with Lime-Green as the primary Brand color. The vibrant hue evokes feelings of growth, innovation, and trust, aligning well with Adept Panels' mission of connecting businesses with valuable insights.

I also used a neutral color palette that compliments Lime-Green such as white for background elements and a dark grey for text and subtle accents. This balance ensures readability and prevents visual overload, upholding the minimalist design principles.

Typography

I used Inter as the main font for the website. Inter's clean and contemporary design complements the minimalist aesthetic of the website. Its lack of unnecessary flourishes ensures clear readability and prevents visual clutter, which is crucial for a minimalist approach.

Inter's overall look and feel exude professionalism and trustworthiness, qualities highly valued by C-level users. The typeface portrays a sense of authority and reliability, aligning perfectly with Adept Panels' mission of connecting businesses with valuable insights.

One of Inter's primary strengths is its exceptional readability across various screen sizes. This is particularly important for a platform like Adept Panels, which needs to be accessible and user-friendly on desktop computers, tablets, and mobile devices. C-level users are likely to access the platform on various devices, and Inter ensures a seamless experience regardless of the screen size.

Page Flow & AIDA Model

By leveraging the AIDA model, I gained valuable insights into structuring and sequencing content on my website. AIDA, which stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action, helped me effectively engage users and guide them toward a specific objective.

Attention:

The first section of the page is supposed to grab a visitor’s attention and encourage them to scroll through the entire page.

Interest:

Social proof can provide validation & trust escalating user’s interest in what we do.

Desire:

By showing how easy it is to fill out the survey and get rewards we can bring a sense of desire among the users.

Action:

Call-to-action buttons placed at appropriate sections urge users to complete the cycle by taking action once they have been presented with all the data.

The flow of the page plays a crucial role in building trust with the audience so as to convert them into potential customers. Here the flow is designed in such a way that it caters to c-level users who often have less time to explore new products. Hence, I kept their user experience smooth.

Visual Design

This part of the process took the majority of the time and effort. I went through multiple iterations of visual design for each section until I reached the point where I felt satisfied with it & also where the design met with all business requirement.

Hero Section

For the Hero Section of the Landing Page I have used a carousel approach that showcases the platform’s core value proposition (USP’s) for C-Level users.

This dynamic carousel approach effectively grabs user attention and succinctly communicates the platform’s benefits.

Each carousel slide features a visually appealing banner image that complements the USP being presented.

Catchy Headline: A clear and concise headline captures user attention and succinctly conveys the USP's essence.

Supporting Subtext: A brief subtext further clarifies the headline, providing additional details and context.

Call to Action (CTA) Button: Each slide concludes with a prominent CTA button that encourages users to take the next step, such as "Sign Up for Free" or "Learn More."

Survey Participants & Sponsor Companies Section

I strategically designed this section to build Trust and Value for both C-level users and businesses. By displaying logos of reputable companies I establish credibility and fosters trust with potential C-level users. Seeing familiar brands participating can incentivize others to join the platform.

Highlighting the caliber of companies using Adept Panels implicitly communicates the quality and value of the insights gleaned from surveys. This can be particularly appealing to C-level users seeking access to reliable market research.

Superfast Reward Fulfillment section

I designed this section in such a way that it presents a clear and streamlined reward fulfillment process, this section addresses potential concerns C-level users might have. This reduces friction and motivates participation.  Knowing they'll receive rewards quickly incentivizes users to invest their time in surveys, ultimately contributing to a higher participation rate and a thriving platform for both businesses and users.

Structure & Visuals

The section utilizes a three-step breakdown to illustrate the reward fulfillment process in a clear & concise manner.

Each step is accompanied by a relevant icon or image that visually reinforces the message.

I incorporated a data visualization section strategically designed to leverage social proof and build trust with C-level users. This section showcases key metrics using visually appealing elements to effectively communicate the platform's success.

Three key metrics were chosen for display:

1. Number of People Who Have Filled Our Surveys: This metric emphasizes the platform's active user base and the valuable data collected through surveys.
2. Number of B2B Sponsors: This metric highlights the platform's growing network and potential value for businesses seeking access to this pool of C-level users.
3. Total Amount Worth of Rewards Shipped: This metric showcases the platform's commitment to rewarding users for their time and expertise.

Reports Section

I have incorporated a dedicated "Reports Showcase" section strategically designed to position the platform as a thought leader and a trusted resource in the industry.  This section leverages valuable reports to attract potential clients and users seeking reliable market insights.

I have incorporated a "Testimonials Section" strategically designed to leverage social proof and build trust with C-level users.  This section showcases positive user experiences, fostering a sense of credibility and encouraging potential users to participate in the platform.

I have incorporated a dedicated section strategically designed to emphasize the platform's commitment to data privacy and information security. This section showcases Adept Panels' ISO certification, a globally recognized standard, to build trust and address potential user concerns about data security.

By showcasing the ISO certification, this section plays a crucial role in building trust with C-level users.  In today's data-driven world, security concerns are paramount. Highlighting the platform's adherence to rigorous security standards demonstrates Adept Panels' commitment to protecting user information. This ultimately fosters a sense of security and encourages users to feel comfortable participating in surveys and engaging with the platform.

FAQ's Section

I have incorporated a user-friendly FAQ section strategically designed to empower C-level users with self-service capabilities. This section aims to address common user questions and provide clear, concise answers, minimizing the need for direct customer support interactions.

By providing clear answers to common questions, this section reduces reliance on customer support and allows users to find the information they need independently. This fosters a sense of control and empowers users to navigate the platform with confidence.  Additionally, a well-designed FAQ section reduces the overall support workload, allowing the Adept Panels team to focus on more complex user inquiries.
